Thorn Technologies Improves UMeTime Mobile App
UMeTime Corp engaged Thorn Technologies to enhance the user experience of their eponymous Android app. Available in the Google Play store, UMeTime targets the college and Gen-Y demographic with hyper-local deals from businesses in Austin, Texas.
Thorn Technologies identified a number of potential improvements for the Android application. In order to simulate real world usage, we recreated the server and app environment as a development test bed. Through our code analysis and testing, we found opportunities to improve user location accuracy and power consumption. We also reduced the server data synchronization response time by making the code more efficient. Finally, we rectified specific issues that made the app unusable on certain phones and increased the success rate of processing deal transactions. After approval by UMeTime Corp, the new and improved app was updated on the Google Play store.
