Frequently Asked Questions
What is StorageLink?
StorageLink is your customizable file-sharing portal, connecting users to your private cloud storage locations with a simple, drag-and-drop interface.
How much does StorageLink cost?
StorageLink costs eight cents an hour, plus your cloud infrastucture costs from AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
A 30-day free trial is available on all three cloud platforms.
How is StorageLink different from SFTP Gateway?
The two products compliment each other nicely, as they serve two different file transfer needs.
SFTP Gateway requires an SFTP client in order for users to transfer files to your cloud storage locations.
With StorageLink, no SFTP client is needed. Users can upload and download files directly to and from your cloud storage right from their web browsers with a simple drag-and-drop process.
Which cloud services does StorageLink work with?
Storage Link allows you to connect users with Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage, and Google Cloud. We plan to add more platforms in the future.
How do I know my data is secure?
StorageLink encrypts data in transit and at rest. Your data is protected at every step until it’s safely delivered to your secure cloud storage location or your user’s device. Everything is secured by https during the process of transferring files via a web browser to a private cloud storage location.
Are my files stored anywhere other than in the cloud?
No, StorageLink never holds your files. Your files pass straight through from the user's web browser to the your private cloud storage. Your data is never stored in an intermediary location.
How can I set up StorageLink so users only see the folders and files they should?
With StorageLink, you control who can access your files and who can upload or download them, all from your user-friendly dashboard. One client will never see what another client can see unless you give them access to the same folder.
StorageLink supports external OIDC authentication providers, so you don’t need to manage users in multiple places. You can log in using any identity provider that supports OIDC, including the major cloud providers like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Log in with whatever service you currently use to manage your existing users, which means you don’t need to recreate user accounts all over again.
How to I customize StorageLink with my own logo and colors to match my brand?
StorageLink can be customized in the Settings menu found on the lefthand side of the admin dashboard. Once you've opened the Settings menu, scroll down to the Theme Customizations section, where you can add a logo, favicon, page title and colors for your theme and fonts.
What happens at the end of the 30-day free trial?
At the end of your 30-day free trial, you'll automatically be transitioned to a paid plan by your cloud provider. Charges will appear on your cloud provider bill after your 30-day free trial ends.
Can I cancel at ay time?
With StorageLink, you are billed hourly by your cloud provider. You can stop your server instance anytime to prevent further hourly charges for StorageLink from your cloud provider.
